Spring has sprung and the sun is out! Flowers are blooming everywhere, and I've thrown open all the windows to let that crisp, fresh air flood the house.
Let's dive into the stunning 2011 Riesling from Alexana's Revana Vineyard (@alexanaestate) that I brought to the podcast for a blind tasting with Paul Johnson, the winemaker behind Satyr Fire (@satyrfire). Even after 13 years, this Riesling is impressively fresh—big thanks to @jazmina.chernin for this gem! I chose it because Paul, with his deep passion for white wines, especially Riesling, would truly appreciate its complexity. Almost picked a Chenin, but Riesling was the way to go!
Here's a hot take: Oregon Riesling, especially the aged stuff, deserves more hype. Trust me, you're going to want to dive deeper into Oregon’s lesser-known whites. Curious yet? You should be!
