Tasting Notes
There isn’t a wine Josh McDaniels makes that doesn’t stand out to me! A little while back, I visited Bledsoe Family Winery at a special event at Capers Cafe out near the airport. I had the opportunity to taste their current releases, including the Rose, the 2022 Chenin Blanc (oh my goodness!!!), the 2021 Willamette Valley Pinot, and the 2021 Bledsoe Family Wine.
Somehow, I was fortunate to get a sample bottle of the 2021 Willamette Valley Pinot and a personal note from Josh McDaniels (I must tell you, Bledsoe McDaniel knows how to get your attention). Tonight, I have the luxury to sit with this wine on day 2. I am enjoying more than I did at the special event and more than day one, meaning this wine has some excellent aging potential.
Looking in the glass, I mostly see deep dark reds, but a little bright red is seeping in. That deep, dark deliciousness I enjoy on the nose shows up with some hotness. The deep, dark, succulent entry takes you on a journey to your mid-palate, where everything comes together, entangling your senses. There is some tannin, but not overly in your face. Clove and spice on the finish linger for the longest of times.
