Tasting Notes

What does one do when Siri informs that you have a minimum of 88 minutes of working out for the remainder of the month to achieve your monthly workout challenge? The initial plan was a bike ride around lunchtime, but that didn’t factor in the ortho appt around the same time. Could I go afterward? In 90+ degree temps, no thank you!! I decided to walk for a few miles instead, and geez, it reminded me of summers in Tennessee without the humidity. Cold water was consumed, followed by a cold shower, more water, and some cold refreshing Bubbles once I got home! The 2015 Brut from Lytle Barnett instantly cooled me down with a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. I always enjoy trying to figure out the percentage of blends for Sparkling. On the palate, it’s easy enough for me to notice the initial edge Pinot Noir brings to the glass. I’m always fascinated how Chardonnay comes in mid-palate to soften the edge bringing an incredibly joyful experience. If you haven’t had the ability to taste Lytle Barnett, seek it out! I’ve seen the Brut Rose at Fred Meyer or visit the Carlton Winemakers Studio for a taste. I promise you will not be disappointed! . . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter. Link in the Bio! 🍷
