It’s 2022, time to start exploring new wineries and wines!
Let’s dart out of the gate in style! Aubaine is a still wine project from Andy Lytle with winemaker Isabelle Meunier. Andy Lytle also has a Sparkling program called Lytle Barnett. Andrew Davis is the winemaker for that project, and Isabelle is his wife. Such a small wine world we live in!
Aubaine is French for windfall, and the colored waves on the label represent the Van Duzer Corridor. The Anahata Vineyard is located At The Joy in the Eola-Amity Hills, taking advantage of the brisk afternoon Van Duzer winds.
The wine is decadent! Deep dark fruit with a nice forest floor funk. I think this might be Isabelle’s wine signature. I have seen this wine at Zupan’s and Fred Meyer, but you can also get it at the Carlton Winemaker’s Studio.
