Tasting Notes

Of course, I am sitting on the back deck, taking in all of the sun possible before the F word truly starts with the falling of leaves in the backyard. Tonight I am also reminiscing about an experience I had towards the end of July with winemaker Travis Todd at the Gregory Ranch vineyard for de le boue. Walking the vineyard, sipping on Chardonnay, trying his Pinots, this killer Syrah, and a preview of some 2021 Temperance Hill fruit makes me want to go back again! If you haven't heard of @delaboue_wines I highly encourage you to give them a follow and to also sign up for my newsletter on Saturday morning, where I take a little deep dive into their background and wines. Here's a little excerpt on the 2020 Columbia Gorge Syrah from the Lewis Vineyard. When you think about a typical Syrah, it is a heavier, fuller-bodied wine compared to Pinot. It would also be super easy to pair it with a steak to cut through the fat, helping balance out one another. The 2020 Lewis Vineyard Syrah is dainty compared to Syrah's typical offerings. I was blown away, and Travis's goal is to create a Syrah that pairs perfectly with Salmon. 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 Would you like to get a Saturday morning email to read with your coffee giving you insider tips on events, news, and an in-depth perspective on a winery?
