Tasting Notes
Bud break is getting closer and closer with these warmer temps. I can’t believe it is supposed to be in the mid-80s on Friday. Can you guess who is cleaning off the patio table and getting his patootski outside?
Tonight’s wine is the 2021 Blend 3 Pinot Noir from King’s North.
The other week, I visited Mac and Sid at King’s North. As always, they are pushing the boundaries to create some noteworthy wines. I had the opportunity to taste three different Pinots from their estate vineyard. The labels are named accordingly, Blend 1, Blend 2, and Blend 3. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my trusty journal to write down all the details. However, I remember that Blend 1 and Blend 2 come from specific blocks in the vineyard.
My favorite was Blend 3, which took grapes from all over the vineyard. I also enjoyed the other blends, and they are worth your time to explore! What I liked about Blend 3 was how the darker fruit surfaced more characteristics my palate enjoys. 👇
