Tasting Notes
What does one do in January when it’s not raining, the temperature is in the low 50s, and the roads are dry? There is only one answer to this question: go for a bike ride! Good thing I didn’t have meetings during lunchtime and could fit it in. By the time I went to open the wine of the night, rain was starting to set in.
Speaking of tonight’s wine, it is the 2021 Black Sheep Pinot Noir from Antiquum. I opened it mainly because I don’t have a decent tasting note for this week’s newsletter on Saturday morning. As for the wine itself, the color holds the line between light and medium tones of red. On the nose, it crosses the line into the dark red fruit realm, with those fruits transitioning to the mid-palate where you can experience a slight tannin structure, but the fruit is highly present, giving a long lingering finish of pleasure!
