Tomorrow is Pinot Noir Day and it felt wrong to open a Pinot tonight. Early on in my wine journey I wanted to find as many Gamays as I could. I adore the fact Gamay is becoming more popular throughout Oregon. One of my favorite Gamay producers is Hazelfern, plus they are super amazing humans!
What I enjoy about Gamay is the fact it is a little lighter bodied over a Pinot. It’s a little cheaper as well. On the nose you get more floral scents and on the palate there is a distinct flavor profile of the dark red fruits I adore along with spice and earth tones.
Do you have a favorite Gamay?
