Tasting Notes

How can it be Wednesday already? I guess this means I am having a great summer, and I don’t want it to end. I was supposed to attend a Dinner in the Field dinner on Friday at Alloro but was postponed until next week. I won’t participate next week either but will frequent a different Dinner in the Field event. I am a little bummed it was canceled, but also grateful I will not be melting out in the middle of the vineyard. I don’t have any Alloro bottles to open, but the next best thing is opening a bottle from Elevee. The winemaker Tom Fitzpatrick is the winemaker at Alloro on top of his Elevee label. I always adore opening an Elevee bottle after taking a solid five minutes of contemplation to pop the cork. I never regret my decision, though. Tonight’s bottle presents itself with an elegant bright red cherry upon entry, transitioning into a gentle slight spice dark fruit lingering finish. . . . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter.
