Tasting Notes

In our exploration of 5 Blind Oregon Chardonnays with Andy Joly from @caperscafepdx, we continued to delve into the tasting experience for an upcoming podcast episode. To surprise Andy, I selected a wine from a relatively new brand called Aubaine (@aubainewine), crafted by seasoned winemaker Isabelle Meunier. It was a thrilling experience to analyze this wine without any preconceived notions. In fact, all of the wines we tasted were incredibly enjoyable, but when I mentioned the winemaker, Andy's reaction was priceless! Be sure to tune in and watch the episode when it is released on Thursday. Let me share my observations: The 2020 Aubaine Athas Chardonnay is an elegant and intricate wine that truly shines when you pay attention to its mid-palate flavors at room temperature. It presents a delightful minerality and a pleasing acidity, indicating its potential for aging. 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 Would you like to get a Saturday morning email once a month to read with your coffee giving you insider tips on events, news, and an in-depth perspective on a winery?
