Tasting Notes
It’s the last day before going back to the daily grind. In some respects, I miss the grind and being in my routine, but on the flip side, it has been fantastic going with the flow pretty much every day.
For the last flow day, I opened the 2019 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from Cho Wines. I have been following the journey of Lois and Dave for the last couple of years. It has been amazing to watch them launch and buy their property in 2022 (it doesn’t feel right to say last year yet). Dave’s winemaking ambitions are incredible, and I might have enjoyed a few bottles of his Blanc de Noirs over the break!
Tonight’s wine is nice and light in color. The entry is super smooth and pleasant, carrying over to the mid-palate, where you are greeted with great acidity mixed with light and dark fruit. The tannin structure is tightly integrated with a long, satisfying finish!
