Tasting Notes
The weather today was a direct reflection of my day. I honestly think in 5-ish years studies will come out saying the consistent Ping of Deaths from Enterprise Messaging platforms cause neurological issues. So once the sun came out, I focused a bit on this week’s newsletter. I was in a complete state of flow for about 3 minutes before I looked up and noticed I was two minutes late for the next thing on the calendar.
The 2019 Willamette Valley Pinot from Pray Tell Wines hit the spot tonight. Pouring the wine into the glass, I started drooling a bit. The deep dark opulent redness translates to fragrant dark fruit on the nose. Mid-palate is an entire cast of characters starring dark fruit, lively tannins, and a supporting cast of forest floor after being opened for a bit. Even though the Pinot aged on neutral oak for 12 months, the finish contains a bit of spice, thanks Pommard, bringing along the forest for an extended encore!
