Tasting Notes

Moving on from Sparkling It feels weird and awkward not to talk about Sparkling, but it’s time. On Sunday, I had the pleasure to sit down with @00wines and @decanterberrytales to taste through the 2019s. Kathryn gave a killer presentation while tasting through the lineup: Chardonnays 2019 VGW 2019 EGW 2019 Richard Herman Cuvee 2019 Kathryn Herman Cuvee Pinots 2019 VGR 2019 Shea 2019 Richard Herman Cuvee 2019 Hyland 2019 Chehalem Some standouts for me were the 2019 Kathryn Herman Chard, 2019 Hyland Pinot Noir, and the 2019 Chehalem Mountain Pinot. Another small factoid I found interesting was last year there was a 2018 Chehalem Chardonnay, not no Pinot. This year is the exact opposite with a 2019 Chehalem Pinot and no Chardonnay. This statement speaks volumes about the quality 00 puts into their wines. If the wine doesn’t meet their quality standards, they don’t make it. . . . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter. Link in the Bio!
