🍷 Wine :
2019 Elizabeth Chamber Dupee Valley Vineyard Pinot Noir
This Pinot grabbed my attention immediately during a tasting after the IPNC Grand Seminar in July. I want to say it packs a punch like a Mike Tyson right hook, but a right hook wouldn’t exactly be pleasant. I have said multiple times the 2019 vintage is out of this world. The Dupee takes the foundation of 2019 and builds upon it with a bright nose, a mid-palate balanced with bright and dark red fruit, and a two-pronged approach to the finish. First is a regular mouth watery, spicy finish, followed up with a tingling sensation on the palate lasting for quite some time.
When I sat down with Drew Voit, the winemaker for Elizabeth Chambers, I mentioned this wine but couldn’t recall its name immediately. Drew said something like, “It was the Dupee, wasn’t it?” with a big grin on his face. You could tell just from the expression on his face how proud he was of the wine.
