Tasting Notes
I should be drinking a bottle from Dick Erath today, but what I can say I wasn’t thinking too clearly after a long day of the constant ping of Teams. So please excuse my frazzled state while I sit outside, away from any screens for some time, and reflect upon the sensational story of Dick Erath and his contribution to the Oregon Wine Community.
Tonight’s wine is the 2019 Dossier Walla Walla Valley Syrah.
Prepare to be blown away by Dossier's 2021 Walla Walla Valley Syrah. As you pour it into your glass, you'll be mesmerized by the super dark red color that practically begs you to take a closer look. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice that this blend is unlike any other you've tried before, with 7% Viognier blended in with 93% Syrah.
This wine is the perfect choice when you're in the mood for something meaty and satisfying, but don't want to reach for a Cab. With its smooth, silky texture and just the right amount of grippy tannins, the first sip is nothing short of delightful.
But the real magic happens on the finish. It's as if you're watching a flower open up in a time-lapsed video, with each deep, dark red fruit expressing its individuality in the most spectacular way. The complexity of flavors and aromas is simply mind-blowing.
