Tasting Notes
I'm currently in the midst of commemorating my birthday week by indulging in the opening of some special bottles! I have no idea when this celebration will come to an end, perhaps it will extend into a month-long birthday extravaganza...
In any case, the wine I am savoring tonight is a 2019 Domaine Divio (@domainedivio) Willamette Valley Chardonnay. As I caramelize onions for a delectable French Onion Soup, I am relishing this particular vintage. It surprises me that this Chardonnay is already 5 years old, as it brings back countless memories of the first time I met Sara. She mentioned recognizing me from a previous place she worked at, and I fondly recall the warm hugs she always gives and the unforgettable moments at Domaine Divio. It truly is a remarkable place!
Turning my attention to the wine itself, I have a strong feeling that this bottle will be emptied all too quickly. It possesses all the qualities one desires in a Chardonnay. It boasts a robust acidity, without being excessively oaked, and the finish is absolutely delightful! I am immensely grateful to Bruno for crafting such an exceptional wine, and I eagerly anticipate diving into the 2012, 2014, and 2015 Pinots from Domaine Divio in the years to come.
