Tasting Notes

Today is National Rose Day, and I should have opened a Rose. I wasn’t in the mood for a Rose. I chose something else that spoke volumes to me! There are many Oregon Chardonnays I adore and enjoy. Today when I was looking for a bottle to open, I saw the 2019 Audeant Seven Springs Chardonnay, and I got the biggest smile on my face as I popped the cork. Why the smile? Well, there is a multi-faceted answer. First are the people behind the label. Andrew, Teal, and Dan are spectacular people bringing wine for everyone to enjoy and are some of the kindest, down-to-earth people. Secondly, I get nothing but glowing feedback on the wine when I refer people. I don’t open my Audeant bottles very often because Holy Toledo Batman, these are something special to me. In the glass, you get everything you would expect from a 4-year-old Chardonnay. The nose gives you a glimpse into a journey of epic proportions with hints of something wild and untamed. That first sip on entry doesn’t prepare you for a mid-palate of what I always describe as wild, feral, and unruly. A racy wild streak runs through your mid-palate, interlaced with a crazy amount of acidity. I probably shouldn’t have opened this bottle because in 10+ years, this bottle will have a different experience, and I want to take full advantage of what that entails! 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🗓 🍷 🗓 🍷 🗓 🍷 🗓 🍷 🗓 Trying to keep up with the events happening in Wine Country can be a full-time job.
