Tasting Notes
What a weekend! It was a weekend full of catching up with new and old friends, pickup parties, dinners, and checking out some new wineries. It’s been a while since I had three full days exploring Wine Country.
If you missed it via Stories, I am hosting a Wine Dinner at Tavern on Kruse(@tavernonkruse) on April 1st. I selected 4 special wines (@corollarywines X-OMNI Blanc de Blanc, 2019 @aubainewine Chardonnay, 2019 @audeantwines Luminous Hills Pinot , and a 2016 @harpervoitwines Antiquum Pinot). Unfortunately, there are very few tickets left. Be sure to click on the link in the Bio for all of the details!
There are times when a tasting note pretty much writes itself, and that is the case for the 2019 Goodfellow Willamette Valley Pinot. In the glass, the red transparency tells me to expect bright red fruits, but I get those 2019 dark fruits on the nose. On the mid-palate, I enjoyed those dark sultry fruits, but the light overpowered the dark on the finish. The finish just kept going and going and going and going and going some more. I am pretty darn sure the Energizer Bunny can’t keep up with this bad boy!
