Tasting Notes

How does one get ready for the pre-pre-IPNC dinner? Well, you open something nice, something special, something delicious, and something with a little chill to combat the heat. Warning, the next four days, there will be a LOT of stories about IPNC. There might be a reel or two as well since Insta is all about video these days. On to the important stuff, wine! I chose to open a 2018 Rock Block Chard from Hazelfern. I rarely open my Hazelforn bottles because I want to save a crap ton of special bottles, but it is a special night! What I enjoyed about the Rock Block is the subtle minerality on entry and showing its presence more on the mid-palate. The acidity level shows promise of longevity, and the finish continues to express the smooth minerality for an extended period of time! I am sure you have visited Hazelfern, but if you haven’t, get it on your bucket list now! Also, here’s to a killer IPNC! . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter. Link in the Bio! 🍷
