Tasting Notes

The sun was out, it was warm outside, and it was Friday! Do you know what this means? Everyone left work early, and traffic was far from fun. So what does one do with a day like this? Open a bottle of Sparkling, of course! I decided to open the 2018 Lytle Barnett Blanc de Noirs. If you know anything about me, I must immediately study the bubbles filling the glass in a glorious steady stream! Taking giant sniffy sniffs, the pleasantries of red fruit beckon more attention on the mid-palate, where the bubble mouth feel combines with the red fruits of 100% Pinot Noir. Typically, a Blanc de Noirs has a slight grippy tannin sensation on the mid-palate leading into the finish, but this is smooth and elegant through and through. The extended long finish is where you understand why Lytle-Barnett is vintage-based. Showing off the beauty of the 2018 vintage, you are left with high acidity, clearly demonstrating I should have held on to this bottle for at least ten more years. The future is bright on so many levels for Oregon Sparkling! 👇 👇 👇 👇 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 🥂 Massive shoutout to Lytle-Barnett for sponsoring the podcast this week!
