Tasting Notes
It's been a fun Thanksgiving weekend of tasting, and there are a couple more tomorrow, but I want to talk about Thanksgiving wines for a little bit.
On Thanksgiving, I opened four bottles, a 2018 Lonesome Rock Sparkling from Corollary, a 2017 Lytle-Barnet Blanc de Blancs, a 2019 Gravity Pull's Chardonnay from Championship Bottle, and a 2018 Doubleback Cab Sauv. When I opened them on Thanksgiving Day, all of them were showing beautifully, and there was no way I would finish them the same day. There was no way I would finish them on day two, even though I tried.
Tonight I succeeded in finishing the bottles, and let me tell you, after three days, all of these wines were glowing! Both Sparklings were full of life with bubbles and fruit. The Chardonnay was full of minimality, and the Cab Sauv was calm, cool, and collected. I think it's time to focus on how long wines hold up over time.
