Tasting Notes
Something a little different from Walla Walla
Yes, once in a blue moon, I have something that isn’t 100% Oregon, but still super close with the 2018 Doubleback Cab from Walla Walla. Doubleback is part of the Bledsoe Family Winery, which recently purchased the Hopewell vineyard from Mimi Casteel. The future looks bright for the Bledsoe Family Winery!
I have to tell you I am not the biggest fan of young Cabs at all! When I started hearing about Doubleback, I was a little skeptical. More than a handful of young Cabs on the market say they are the next best thing to buttered bread. I was blown away with my first sip! Next to no tannins, great body and structure, and I couldn’t believe I was tasting a 3-year-old Cab. This is some excellent wine!
