Tasting Notes

I am torn tonight. I got a new highly anticipated book delivered today I want to read. I should work on my winery/wine report for January. What should I do? No matter what, I will be close to an open window listening to the gentle rain hit the deck below me with crisp cool air blowing in. Tonight’s bottle is a 2017 Reserva Cab Franc from Alexana’s sister vineyard in Argentina. This nice deep, dark, almost purple in color Cab Franc took a little to open up. The tannins are a wee bit harsh but will help make this bottle way better 5 plus years down the road. Taking the tannins out of the picture, this Cab Franc is enjoyable with a smooth, pleasant mid-palate along with a nice long finish. I seriously need to taste more Cab Francs in 2021. This descriptor needs so much work. . . . . . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter. Link in the Bio!
