Tasting Notes

It’s Christmas week and I have the last two weeks of the year off from work. Traveling to explore and getting away is off the table, and so the next best option is to explore some wine in the cellar. I debated to open up my last bottle of the 2017 Lumunious Hills from Audeant. It was calling my name and I wasn’t disappointed. Is there anything better than being on cloud nine? Of course, I am asking for a friend who tells me every time this cork is pop, and the words "Oh my gawd" protrudes with a smile making the caked-on smile from The Joker a matter of sheer nonsense. Seriously, all motor functions cease to exist with every sip. I have one magnum left, and I will share this bottle with a very select few. There has only been one bottle of Pinot this year where I have been blown away each and every single time I have partaken in a sip. This is that bottle! My experience: Turbulence is normally referred to as an unpleasant experience. For me, encountering turbulence on the palate brings forth complexity and rewires your senses for the greater good. I get liquid turbulence of spiced dark fruit on entry all the way through for an extra soft, intoxicating finish. If there is such a thing as a second finish, I get it here! Something unexpected happens several seconds after the finish. Andrew somehow magically gives me an everlasting blossoming flower leaving me in a state of wonderment. My score using the Jancis Robinson scale: 20 Truly Exceptional . . . . . . 📰 Want to know more about Oregon Wine and Wineries sign up for my weekly newsletter. Link in the Bio!
