Tasting Notes

There are very few days I am glad are over. Yesterday was one of those days where nothing went as planned. The only way to recover is a good night of sleep with a morning of introspection. Enough about yesterday. Can we talk about Benza? I hadn’t heard of this winery until earlier this year when I was asked to help out a few weekends to pour. To say I was impressed is an understatement. I enjoy their Pinots, and when I noticed they had Method Champenoise / Traditionnelle Sparkling, I was more than delighted! Side note, when I was interviewing Jessica and Paden West for the podcast, Paden was interviewing for the winemaker position at Benza. So if you don’t know Paden, don’t worry. Follow @benzavineyards to see everything going on, including some excellent education from Paden. As for the 2017 Brut Sparkling, it is a blend of 50% Pinot and 50% Chardonnay and is the perfect accent to an afternoon of taking it easy. So when you visit Benza, tell Ron, “A.J. sent me!” 👇 👇 👇 👇 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷 Would you like to get a Saturday morning email to read with your coffee giving you insider tips on events, news, and an in-depth perspective on a winery?
