Tasting Notes
I am still thinking about Chardy Party from a couple of weeks ago. So much good food, incredible wine, and so many people to catch up with. There is no way to taste everything or talk to everyone, but it might just be possible to eat all of the chicken and biscuits!
As I was heading out, I stopped to chat with Bryan and noticed an incredibly special bottle with plenty left in it. He smiled and told me to take it home and enjoy it. How could I possibly pass up a 2017 Ana Vineyard Pinot from Hazelfern? I knew I would not be able to open it until Sunday, which felt like an eternity.
When I got home, temptation won. I poured a tiny taste since I had missed trying it at Chardy Party. Oh my goodness. Pure deliciousness from start to finish. I quickly corked it and tucked it into the wine fridge for safekeeping.
Sunday finally arrived. I let the bottle come to room temperature, poured a glass, took a sip, and was completely blown away. The Ana Vineyard is truly something special. Even after several days open, the wine was vibrant and fresh. It has been years since I last had this wine, and I cannot thank Bryan enough for letting me take it home.
Side note, if the last weekend of July is not already blocked on your calendar, consider this your reminder. Chardy Party and Method Oregon make for an unforgettable long weekend, and I have a feeling next year will be even better.
