Tasting Notes
It has been a little while since I recorded a new episode of the Weinnotes Podcast, and sitting across the table again felt incredible. There is something about the energy in the room when the mics are on, a great bottle is open, and the conversation starts to unfold.
This week’s episode features Blair and LJ from Lucid Wild. Their new space is absolutely gorgeous, but it is their story that really pulls you in. The way they work together, the clarity of their vision, the heart they bring to what they are building — it all comes through in this conversation.
And yes, I brought a blind wine. It is something I do every time, not to test anyone, but to connect the wine to the people sitting with me. For Blair and LJ, I chose the 2016 Elton Vineyard Chardonnay. The reason is simple. Isabelle Meunier made that wine for Lavinea, and now she is also making the wines for Lucid Wild.
Watching their reactions was pure joy. LJ called it right away. Oregon Chardonnay. Blair took a thoughtful dive into the texture, the structure, the emotion of it. These are the moments I live for. When wine becomes more than a drink. When it becomes a memory.
The full episode drops Thursday morning on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. I hope you give it a listen. This one is full of insight, warmth, and that unmistakable spark that happens when people are doing exactly what they are meant to do.
