Tasting Notes
Two weeks ago, I was part of an incredible virtual tasting with Velenosi Wines. Tonight I opened the 2015 Roggio Del Filare Rosso Piceno Superiore. I have to admit I was a little apprehensive it was going to be too big and bold for me. I took my first small sip, and I was surprised it wasn’t this meaty thickness I had to force my way through. The combination of Sangiovese and Montepulciano grapes was charming and went along very nicely with my steak. In fact, it was fan-freakin-tabulous. I am still sipping on it after dinner, and it is a little dry but enjoyable. If you want to venture outside of Oregon wines, give this a try and let me know what you think.
