Tasting Notes
Last year I purchased a 12 year vertical from Ridge Crest. I have been doing my level best not to touch these bottles, but tonight something overtook me. Maybe it was the sun. Maybe it was the fact I cleaned up my wine cellar. Maybe it was a pure weakness to pop the cork. Whatever it was, I am glad I did open the 2014 tonight. Nice and dark red in color. Super dark fruit on the nose. The dark fruit follows through mid-palate. Acidity is still strong with a bit of tannin, giving this bottle many more years to age. Maybe I should have waited…..
