Tasting Notes
Yet another sign life is slowing opening up. Tonight was the last night Tavern on Kruse is doing their take home and finish meal. I feel conflicted in my emotions. I have throughly enjoyed these take home meals and sad they are going away, but also excited to see Tavern opening up on Thursday.
I am pairing tonight’s Short Rib Tagliatelle with Mad Violet’s 2013 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. The 2013 speaks volumes to the hard work and dedication of Kelly and Stirling put into their wines. 2013 was the year it rain a metric crap ton over a weekend near harvest time. The dark ruby color bring about a slight spice and cooked red berry aromas. On the palette I notice a peppery spice lingering for an enjoyable finish allowing for a low tannin sipping experience. If you get a chance, I highly recommend taking a visit to Mad Violets little hideaway in the wine country to sample their wines.
