Tasting Notes
How does one pick a wine for National Wine Day on Taco Tuesday during Oregon Wine Month? It is easy enough to pick something from Oregon, but Taco Tuesday and National Wine Day….. It took me about 10 minutes to decide on a 2013 Lazy River from Elizabeth Chambers.
I adore the tawny color of this wine. It’s not every day I get to drink a Pinot this color. On entry, the secondary fruit slipped in under the radar to mid-palate, where you have to pay attention to notice there is good acidity for aging. On the finish, lovely subtle spices linger for quite a while. I feel I accomplished the task of finding a good wine for such a special day! What did you open today?
