Tasting Notes
Over the weekend, I couldn’t help myself and opened a bottle I promised myself to hold onto longer. I sometimes suck at self-control, but when I featured Brooks in my iPhone App earlier in the week, I couldn’t help but think about three bottles. The first is the 2010 Sweet P Riesling, and nope not opening that bottle. The second was the 2014 Ara Riesling. Guess what? That bottle isn’t getting opened either. The third was 2016 Cahiers Pinot Noir. So after much deliberation with my internal self, I decided to pop the cork.
I will never forget the first time I tasted this at the tasting room in January of 2020. I remember tasting a bit more funk than the rich, upfront fruitiness on entry I got over the weekend. However, I enjoyed how those fruits opened up more on the mid-palate for a super silky finish where the tannins nicely integrated for many more years to pass.
BTW, if you want to know more about Brooks, download the Weinnotes iPhone App and check it out! The link is in the Bio.
