Tasting Notes
This past Saturday was National Open a Bottle a night. The purpose of the holiday is to open something you usually wouldn't open. I was fortunate to be with a group of friends for the evening, and wow, some fantastic wines were opened to celebrate. Jason, aka @decanterberrytales, opened a 2005 St. Innocent Anden Vineyard Chardonnay. All I can say is wow! What a unique opportunity, and grateful to have such an incredible group of friends. Thank you!
The color of this wine is something to behold and treasure. We all have heard white wines get brighter with age and red wines get lighter. This wine is a perfect example of what an aged Chardonnay should look like. Unfortunately, I don’t have all the tasting notes for this wine because I was enjoying it too much. We rarely get the opportunity to taste older Pinots and even rarer to taste older Oregon Chardonnays. Thank you so much, Jason, for sharing; I thoroughly enjoyed it!
